MY NEW TRAVEL CONSULTING BUSINESS: "TRADE HOMES AND TRAVEL"

There are all sorts of questions about house exchanging, and I bet I’ve been asked every one of them in my workshops, in response to my articles, or in simple conversations with friends and acquaintances.  There is huge interest in home swapping and many people are taking the plunge.  Many more are willing to give it a try but their busy schedules make it difficult for them to tackle the process of finding a good exchange and organizing it.  Other people feel a bit overwhelmed or even intimidated by the process, but would love to do an exchange if someone could help them.

That’s why I’ve decided to offer my help in organizing house exchanges for people who need some assistance.  Through my new consulting business, “Trade Homes And Travel,” I can help you:

·         Find the home swap website(s) that work best for you and that offer the widest selection of potential exchanges in places you want to go.

·         Write a compelling and catchy description of your home and neighborhood to help maximize your chances of being noticed by people browsing the site(s).

·         Select the best photos to showcase your home and area.

·         Choose a home swap locale among the thousands that are available.

·         Write a strong query that will catch the eye of other home swappers.

·         Negotiate the details of the exchange.

·         Negotiate pet, garden or houseplant care.

·         Protect your home and its contents while you’re gone.

·         Walk through the checklist of tasks to be done before embarking on the exchange.

Over the past decade, my family and I have done nearly 30 exchanges to cities, suburban areas, small towns and the countryside.  We’ve traveled around Europe and Scandinavia exchanging homes.   We’ve swapped to Costa Rica and Canada as well as throughout the United States.  We’ve stayed in luxurious second homes and cosy family houses; hip downtown apartments and cabins in the mountains; beachfront properties and ski resort condos.

House exchanging is now my preferred way to travel, and I’d like to help you learn to enjoy it, too.  If you’d like to contact me about helping you find a great home swap, email me at bamcoast@earthlink.net.  Happy swapping!
